Power Planner III Test
The
New York State Electric and Gas Corporation (NYSEG) has tested
the Power Planner III to
reduce energy consumption at its power plants.
The
PPIII was installed on the #2 House Service Air Compressor at
the Jennison Station in Bainbridge, NY.
This compressor is a 75 HP, Sullair screw compressor that runs
continuously.
The
PPIII reduced power consumption by 18% and reduced inrush current
by 0.46 kiloamps, or 63%.
Based on a power replacement cost of $0.04 per kilowatt hour,
the calculated annual savings are $3,819.36,
which equates to a material payback of 5.81 months.
The
speed of the motor did not change when checked with a strobe light.
The temperature of the motor did not change.
Attached
are the display screens for the Fluke 43 meter used to take the
measurements.
The screens show the power display for one phase and the inrush
current before and after the PPIII.
If
I can provide any additinal information, please do not hesitate
to call.
Yours
truly,
